we should try and make a post about our mission statement/values.
taken from our website:
"We power collective impact that is
community-led, particularly by young people most impacted by inequity;
comprehensive, recognizing the interdependence of systems, institutions, people, history, and context;
co-creative, with people of diverse backgrounds, identities, and perspectives working together;
equity-centered, unrelenting in our pursuit of a world in which social, economic, and political outcomes are not based upon a personās background or identity;
well-capitalized, investing generously in community-led change;
compassionate, valuing not just metrics and numbers, but dignity, respect, and belonging; and
courageous, where we dare to be vulnerable, take risks, and act
External Comms had this idea before that we could do a series on the 7Cs, too. Perhaps a first post that lists everything but then posts that highlight one C at a time, too.
Iām thinking maybe for the individual Cs we could have the following elements?
Slide 1
āYouth-led collective impact is ____ā
What does ____ mean to you? (for engagement and people can write comments to say what it means
Slide 2
List out ideas for living out ___
What are your tips for ___?
Slide 3
Lists out all 7Cs so that people remind themselves of all 7Cs
Iām not sure Iām using the right language. What I mean is my idea is for each post to be a carousel post that consists of several images. See what I mean by carousel below!
i think we should leave questions to the last slide. i feel like slide 1 should be the last slide. how about this?
Slide 1
The 7Cs of Collective Impact
Community led
Comprehensive
Co-creative
Equity Centerd
Well-capitalized Caring (we can highlight/emphasize the one weāre focusing on in the post)
Courageous
Slide 2
Youth-led collective impact is CARING.
Slide 3
Tips on how to be caring:
Start meetings with check-ins: āHow are you?ā
Celebrate when people say āNoā to a request because theyāre practicing self-care
Say, āWe donāt allow burnout here.ā
Ask for support! āHey, I had a tough dayā¦ can we talk?ā
Be open about mental health! āIām bipolar and feeling manicā¦ please tell me to go to sleep if you see me up at 3amā
What are your tips? Add them to your comments!
Slide 4
What does caring mean to you? Let us know in the comments!
I also think we should go in order of our 7C of collective impact. And I think we can post these every two days.
I really like this! It reinforces that the 7Cs work together.
I think we use this slide to add our specific definition of caring.
This is an annotated version of our 7Cs that traces the roots of our thinking. One of the things that we need to do desperately is now to rewrite the definition of our Cs in simple language. By taking on this project we can tackle the rewriting of each C one at a time! What do you think?
Letās move this question to Slide 4 so we give people response prompts in the same image.
Same order makes a lot of sense to me. I think we should move slower, though, because of the need to do rewriting. Also, we have another series to do slowly, too, our Meet the Team posts! Carlineās is up and I think it was super successful. We should continue with the next person.
@Sophie.Xu I think you should also be informed and give input into this project because I know youāve had on your backlog needing to reword our 7Cs as well! I propose that Samantha continues to bottom line this work with us as support. What do you think?
Also @saf, we donāt have to worry about this now, but I just realized that weāll want in the future a series about our values, too. Iāve put that as an idea for now and also linked it to this post because theyāre related.
Finally, Iām moving this topic from āideaā stage to āexploringā stage since itās actively in progress. @saf, at another time Iāll share with everyone what the different stages are and how to track them in the Hub!
I hope you saw in the notes that the external comms circle consents to us moving forward on this, @saf! What C do you think we should start with? Do we want to just do it in order? Thoughts?
i think starting in order will be the most efficient. i can definitely work with sophie on this, but since sheās taking a break, we can move forward. if thatās alright, of course?
iām gonna need to take some time read the āmission, aims, valuesā and also the āpolicies and proceduresā documents first. i can start working on this around monday, and hopefully iāll have everything read before then
