Donor Q&A Panel

Overview

A Donor Q&A brings current donors to the stage to share why they donate to YPC. It’s a great opportunity to thank the donors on the panel, to generate insights for current organizers, and to get people interested in becoming new donors.

Host Your Own

Planning

Decide who to invite as donors. Include donors with different backgrounds and reasons for donating.

Decide who to invite to attend. Consider current organizers and potential donors.

Decide what questions to ask. Here are some example questions:

  • Who are you? What do you do on a day-to-day basis? What are some of your interests?
  • What causes do you care about?
  • Why and how did you decide to donate? How did you come to know about YPC? What motivated you to donate? What is special about YPC? Why do you believe in us?
  • What impact do you want to see? How do you want your donation to be used? What are you expecting your money to do?
  • What are you hoping to receive out of donating?
  • What would motivate you to advocate for us, to ask others in your circles to donate as well?
  • What other resources would you be willing to contribute?

Decide who does what. Examples of tasks to do include:

  • Invite and communicate with donors
  • Invite attendees
  • Set up event space (whether online or in-person)
  • Send calendar invites and reminders to people who register
  • Send event follow-up to people who attend
  • Post on social media
  • Facilitate Q&A
  • Write event report
